Oct 20
This 3-hour program provides a unique baseline to understand core cultural basics of the art, and practices, of Hawaiian Healing. It is presented by a certified Healing Practitioner (an expert in the particular field of herbal medicine known as La`au Lapa Au), and a Cultural Specialist.
As with all things Hawaiian, we begin the presentation at the cornerstone of cultural Hawai'i: the deeper understanding of Aloha! The “lifestyle,” known as Aloha, promotes an understanding, and encompasses a way of living, that exemplifies balance in everyday life. By living and expressing these principles, one maintains a life lived pono – or in balance of mind, body, and spirit. The ultimate purpose of any wellness activity is to bring you back into balance. This program not only gives you the cornerstone on which to build, but tools to help identify when you are not pono…and how to bring yourself back into balance. You’ll learn about different types of healing modalities, healing practitioners, herbs, and breath work – all from the ancient Hawaiian practices – that will provide long lasting enlightenment to your own physical well-being. This program is a MUST for anyone wanting to better comprehend, and/or embrace, Hawaiian wellness practices and is the perfect prelude – a solid foundation -- to our other TPTO programs: “Hula As a Healing Art” and “The 4 R’s of a Hawaiian Wellness Experience.”
Achieving balance in the 3-pronged aspects of your life is easier than you think! Let us show you just how simple “Living and Being Aloha” can really be by taking advantage of O`ahu’s “Best Of….” Series for the Cure!
Price: $79 per person
Susan G. Komen: $3 from each attendee will be donated to the Susan B. Komen “Race for the Cure” program in Hawai'i.

Oct 21: Hula
Anyone who thinks of Hawai'i is almost immediately swept into visions of swaying grass skirts and the beat of the pahu (drum). The art of hula is so much more than a dance; it is, and was for centuries, a primary form of communication…of storytelling. It has been the keeper of Hawaiian history and is a beautiful expression of how one’s body and transform unspoken words into a language!
Hula is rooted in Hawaiian spirituality and carries an extreme protocol. For many, hula is a calling and they dedicated themselves – and their bodies – to perfecting the art. But for many, it is also one of Hawai'i’s best kept secrets of “wellness”.
Dancing hula stimulates virtually every system within the body by increasing oxygen and blood flow, loosening joints, strengthening bones and muscles, focusing the mind, and increasing the depths of one’s spiritual experience. Hula is very synergistic – it is so much more than the sum of its parts!
In this 4-hour program, led by one of Hawai'i’s renown Kumu Hula, you will learn the ancient purpose of hula, complete with its adornments, protocols, ceremony, and commitment. You will be introduced to basic hula steps, learn to dance a fun song, and understand the proper way to present and receive a lei! Never again will you attend a luau without understanding the “behind the scenes” of a hula dancer…and…you will take home with you an ability to keep your own health “in step” --- Hawaiian style!
$3 of each admission will be donated to the Susan B. Komen “Race for the Cure” in Hawai’I. In fact, the Kumu Hula is a breast cancer survivor and will share her passion for maintaining a sense of “well-beingness”. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet one of Hawai'i’s finest and most respected Kumu and make a difference in your life every step of the way!

Oct 22: The 4 R’s
In session 1, you learned the basics of Hawaiian Healing practices. In session 2, you learned how to apply many of them thru the beautiful art of hula. In session 3, “The 4 R’s”, you will literally be transported to 4 of O`ahu’s most sacred sites where, at each one, you will activate the chant and entrance protocol you will be taught, learn about the purpose of each site as it pertains to Healing and Well-Being, and have your own personal experience at each location.
The 4 R’s represent the practice of: 1) Releasing, 2) Refocusing, 3) Rebirthing, and 4) Reframing. There will be a short assignment at each site where you will be led in authentic cultural practices by our Hawaiian Healing Practitioner and the Cultural Specialist. At day’s end, you will have been guided through releasing any specific thing that is holding you back from being your BEST SELF and will be able to build on the previous 2-days’ programs of cultural practices. You will also learn fundamental tools for “keeping present” the new realizations you will make that will help transform your life – and healthy energy – once you are back home!
