Chef Elmer Guzman will introduce you to the exquisite flavors of Hawaii Regional Cuisine as Kahu Silva, enriches your experience with the cultural and spiritual traditions of Hawaii.

Travel to the historic Bayer Estate (see www.bayerestate.com) and experience the Hawaii of yesteryear. This is a historic property, which was placed on the Hawaii Register of Historic Places in 1997. The estate is a charming 2-storey Craftsman style home that sites on a breezy, expansive oceanfront lot in east Honolulu.

Be chanted into this historic home by Kahuna Wendell Patrick Kalanikapuaenui "Kalani" Silva (Kahu Silva) ~ honored by the State of Hawaii as a living cultural treasure and served under 3 governors as the state's top cultural advisor and consultant. He is regarded as the world's most highly respected authority on Native Hawaiian royal protocol and Hawaiian spiritual traditions. As a native Hawaiian, Kahu is a devoted steward of the land and nature and blends his Hawaiian spiritual and cultural traditions and invokes the sacred guardians and elements of the earth, sea, and sky and all the forces of the universe into every experience.

Experience Hawaii Regional Cuisine gourmet cooking with one of Hawaii’s celebrity chefs, Chef Elmer Guzman. This celebrated chef will work with guests on the oceanfront lawn to make a three-course gourmet lunch that emphasizes Hawaii Regional Cuisine.

Directions to The Bayer Estate:
Take H1 heading East. H1 turns into Kalanianaole Highway. Go past Aina Haina Shopping Center and Trans-Pacific Hawaii College. The Bayer Estate is on the Makai (ocean) side of the Highway, directly across East Hind Drive, and one driveway before Calvary-By-the-Sea Lutheran Church.

Kahu Silva welcomes guests at the front gate with a Welcome Chant and traditional Hawaiian lei

10:15 Am
Guest are directed to the oceanfront lawn and provided refreshments.

10:20 Am
Kahu Silva provides a brief story about the spiritual/cultural connection to food in Hawaii and introduces our celebrity chef who will work with guests to create a three-course gourmet meal.

10:35 Am
Guests work with Chef Elmer Guzman to make the appetizer, entree, and dessert. After each dish is demonstrated guests will eat and Kahu Silva will sit at the table and tell a short story about each dish as guests enjoy.

12:15 Noon
Photos with Kahu and Chef Elmer Guzman taken by Gourmet Cooking Hawaii and Certificates of Completion given out.

12:30 Pm
Guests stroll into the living room and enjoy a hula performance and traditional Hawaiian songs by Kahu Silva.
