The award-winning Chef Chai Chaowasaree, of Chai’s Island Bistro, invites you to join him for a unique first-hand cooking experience on Thursday, October 16, 2008. Chef Chai is widely recognized for his specialty in Contemporary Island and Pacific Rim cuisine as well as his commitment to using local and organically grown ingredients.
Your afternoon with Chef Chai will include a visit to Honolulu’s historic Chinatown where you’ll help Chef Chai choose the ingredients for the day’s menu, as well as fresh flowers for a special lei making class.
Your time in Chinatown will give you a feel for its strong historical identity paired with its more recent blossoming of culture and the arts. Honolulu’s Chinatown is a rich mixture of cultures, people, boutique shops, antiques, art galleries, lei makers and open markets.
After your enjoyment of Chinatown, you will be Chef Chai’s private guest at his restaurant, Chai’s Island Bistro, located on the Honolulu Harbor at the Aloha Tower Marketplace. Chef Chai will personally use his culinary expertise to teach you how to create, prepare and enjoy delicious island fish. We look forward to your being one of the 30 guests in this once in a lifetime experiences benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
