RESORT AREAS
WAIKIKI
Waikiki contains the majority of Oahu’s hotel accommodations and offers visitors the most choices from budget to deluxe ocean view suites. Waikiki is not only centrally located but there is also a vibrant nightlife, world-class shopping and dining options. Minutes away in downtown Honolulu, you will find the heart of Hawaii’s arts and culture scene with museums, art galleries, eclectic bars and exotic restaurants. The Kahala area, about 10 minutes east of Waikiki on the windward side of Diamond Head, offers luxury hotels and championship golf courses. Nearby attractions include the Honolulu Zoo, Duke Kahanamoku Memorial Statue, Waikiki Aquarium and Diamond Head Crater. Waikiki accommodations are located approximately 9 miles or 30 minutes away car ride away from the Honolulu International Airport.

KO OLINA
The 43 acre Ko Olina resort and marina area is located in the Southwestern region of Oahu, offering luxury hotels and resorts, condos and golf courses. The Ko Olina resort region is an upscale community area with seven lagoons, miles of shoreline, picnic areas, sailing and sports fishing with J.W. Marriot Ihilani Resort and Spa as the main resort. Nearby attractions include the Paradise Cove Luau and Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park. Ko Olina accommodations are located approximately 22 miles or 35 minutes car ride away from the Honolulu International Airport.

NORTH SHORE
In the heart of Oahu’s legendary North Shore sits Banzai Pipeline, Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach known for the epic waves perfect for spectators to watch and for the pro surfers to ride during the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. The North Shore, famous for its excellent surf in winter (October through March), has quite a few condominiums, vacation homes and backpacker hostels aimed at the surfing crowd. Turtle Bay Resort is the sole hotel and resort in the North Shore. Nearby attractions include the Polynesian Cultural Center, Kualoa Ranch, Waimea Bay and Haleiwa town. North Shore accommodations are located approximately 37 miles or 55 minutes away from the Honolulu International Airport.

CAMPING
Camping permits are available at Satellite City Halls on Oahu. Camping is allowed five (5) days a week, from 8 a.m. on Friday to 8 a.m. on Wednesday. Some camp sites are only open during weekends, and other sites are only open or closed during summer months. There is no camping on Wednesdays and Thursdays when the camp sites are closed for maintenance.

Each applicant must apply in person, be at least 18 years old and is limited to one permit which allows a maximum of ten (10) persons, children included, and two (2) family sized tents to be erected. Reservations may be made no earlier than two Fridays prior to the camping period requested. If Friday is a holiday, camping reservations will be accepted on the day before the holiday.
