Whether you prefer a vigorous hike or a leisurely stroll, exploring on foot is a great way to see the sights. From a walk around beautiful Kapiolani Park in Waikiki to a climb up iconic Diamond Head, discover for yourself all the incredible sights and scenery that Oahu has to offer around her island. The average temperature is 75F - 85F (23 - 30 C), perfect weather for running, biking, hiking and other land adventures. Oahu has over 30 different golf courses, as well as trails for horse riding and Oahu also offers recreational centers for practicing Yoga, Tai Chi, and Chi Gong.

HIKING
Oahu is a hiker's paradise, featuring over 30 hikes, ranging from easy routes to hard ones. The Waianae Mountains in the west and the Ko olau Mountains in the east stand as two volcanic "spines" on the island. Over one hundred ridges extend from both spines, resulting in gorgeous valleys of varying depth and width excellent for adventurous hikers. Some trails will lead you through green valleys lush with Hawaiian fauna, while other trails take you to spectacular views along ridges or to a cascading waterfall.

BIKING
Oahu offers excellent routes for biking, whether you are a road biker or a mountain biker. The majority of the single tracks open for mountain bikers in Hawaii can be found on Oahu. We also host "The Century Ride," a 100 mile bike race that sends participants riding along Oahu's scenic eastern and windward shores, and "The Haleiwa Metric Century Ride," which takes riders along the North Shore coast.

GOLFING
There are more golf courses on Oahu than any other Hawaiian island. Over 30 golf courses are spread around the island and most of them are open to the public. Professional golfers from around the world come to Oahu in the beginning of the year to compete in the Sony Open, Turtle Bay Championship, and SBS Open. For avid golfers, the biggest hazard is the beautiful, mesmerizing views of the Pacific Ocean as you play on a variety of courses ranging from those carved from tropical rainforests, mountains, ranches, fields of sugar cane and even seaside links resembling British links.

HORSEBACK RIDING
Horseback riding has been a part of the Hawaiian culture since the days when the original Hawaii paniolos or cowboys had riding stables and horses on the island. Take a relaxing ride through the valley or a scenic trot up the hillsides with ocean views. Both relaxing and exhilarating, horseback riding is an unforgettable adventure you can enjoy with family and friends under the bright Hawaiian sun or with a loved one as you ride off into the sunset.

RUNNING
Oahu is home to various running events throughout the year, such as The Race for the Cure, the Honolulu Marathon and the Great Aloha Run.
